Haliburton sits roughly 237 km from Toronto Pearson International Airport by road, and there is no direct public transit link between the two. Mapping data puts the drive at a little over three hours in good conditions, which is long enough that the way you get to the airport shapes the whole trip. Toronto Pearson Airport Limos runs private, pre-booked airport limo transfers between Haliburton and Pearson, with door-to-door pickup at your home, cottage, resort or lakeside rental anywhere across the Haliburton Highlands.
This page covers what the trip involves: the route, how much time to allow, which communities we serve, how cottage and resort pickups work, what changes between a July weekend and a January snow squall, and how to get a quote. If you already know what you need, you can request a quote or reserve a ride and skip ahead.

Most people who search for an airport limo in Haliburton are in one of two situations. Either they live or own a cottage in the Highlands and are heading out for a flight, or they are flying into Toronto and need to reach a lake property, resort or family gathering that is hours from the terminal. Both trips have the same awkward feature: the airport is at the far end of a long drive, and the last stretch involves two-lane highway and county roads rather than a 400-series freeway.
A private transfer takes the driving off your hands. One driver, one vehicle, and one pickup address, with no transfers between buses or rental counters at either end. For a family coming off a long-haul flight, or someone leaving at 5 a.m. for a morning departure, that matters more than it sounds. Driving yourself means parking at Pearson for the length of your trip, then facing the return leg after a red-eye with the same 237 km still ahead of you.
Pearson is in Mississauga, on the west side of the Greater Toronto Area, and Haliburton is in the Canadian Shield country north of Lindsay. The usual approach is to work east and north out of the airport on the GTA’s freeway network, then pick up Highway 35 for the long run north to Minden. From Minden, county road 21 carries you the remaining stretch to Haliburton village. If you are heading to the eastern side of the county, Highway 118 runs east from Haliburton through Tory Hill and on toward Cardiff and Highway 28 near Bancroft.
The exact choice of freeways in the GTA depends on the time of day, the state of Highway 401 and the 404, and whether Highway 407 is worth the toll that day. Your driver makes that call on the morning of your trip rather than locking in a route weeks ahead. Distances and times on this page come from mapping data and should be treated as estimates, not promises.
Mapping services put the drive between Pearson and Haliburton County at about 237 km, or roughly 3 hours 20 minutes without stops. That figure assumes clear roads and no detours. It does not account for a Friday afternoon queue on Highway 35 in July, a squall off the lakes in January, or a pause in Minden for groceries on the way up.
For departures, a practical rule is to work backward from your flight. Allow the full drive, add time for the Toronto-area traffic you will meet on the approach to Pearson, then add the check-in and security window your airline recommends for your terminal. International flights out of Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 need a longer window than a domestic hop. If that arithmetic puts your pickup in the middle of the night, that is normal for this route, and it is one reason people book ahead rather than looking for a ride the evening before.
At Toronto Pearson Airport Limos, we take pride in delivering exceptional limousine services that prioritize safety and customer satisfaction. Read what our happy clients have to say about their experiences with us:

A departure transfer starts at the address you give us. That might be a house on Head Lake in Haliburton village, a cottage on Kashagawigamog Lake, a resort lobby, or a rental at the end of a private road off Haliburton Lake Road. You tell us your flight time and terminal, we work out the pickup time with you, and the driver arrives at the address ready to load luggage. You are dropped at the departures level at Pearson, not at a parking lot shuttle stop.
Early flights are the main reason people use this service from the Highlands. A 7 a.m. departure out of Pearson typically means leaving the lake in the dark. Having someone else watch the road for three hours is the difference between arriving at the gate awake and arriving at the gate wrecked.
For arrivals, give us your flight number and arrival time when you book. Your driver is then scheduled around your landing rather than a fixed clock time, which matters when a flight comes in an hour late and you still have a long drive ahead. After you clear customs and collect your bags, you meet your driver at the arrangement we confirm with you in advance, and the transfer north begins from there.
Many arrivals head straight for the cottage. If you need provisions, tell us before the trip. Minden is the commercial centre of Haliburton County, and a short stop for groceries or the LCBO there is easier to plan around than to improvise at 11 p.m. when your driver is already two hours into the drive.
Cottage country trips come with their own details. Cottages are often on private or seasonal roads that GPS maps handle poorly, and some have gates, steep driveways or a final stretch of gravel. Give us the full address plus any landmarks, gate codes or turn-offs worth mentioning, and let us know if the road is unplowed or unmaintained in winter. A driver who knows the approach can arrive on time; one who is guessing at a turn in the dark cannot.
The Highlands host corporate retreats, weddings, family reunions and sports weekends, and plenty of guests for those events fly in. We arrange transfers for individuals, couples, families and groups, and can coordinate multiple pickups for the same event. If your group is landing on different flights, tell us the arrival times and we can plan the transfers around them rather than making everyone wait for the last plane.
Our full list of limo services covers corporate travel, chauffeur service and point-to-point transport beyond airport runs, and the same booking process applies.
Haliburton County is made up of four municipalities: Algonquin Highlands, Dysart et al, Highlands East and Minden Hills. Between them they cover more than a dozen named communities and hundreds of lakes, which is why a pickup address in this county usually needs more detail than a street number. We serve the whole county, and the places below are the ones most often used as pickup and drop-off points.
Haliburton village is the hub for most visitors and a large share of year-round residents. Head Lake Park, the Haliburton Highlands Museum, the Rails End Gallery and Arts Centre, and the Sculpture Forest are all within a short distance of the village centre. The Municipality of Dysart et al includes the village and a number of surrounding areas, including Kashagawigamog Lake and Haliburton Lake Road, where many cottage addresses begin.
Minden is the county seat and sits on the Gull River just off Highway 35. It is the usual southern gateway into the Highlands and a practical meeting point if you want a transfer to end before the last stretch of cottage roads. Minden Hills also takes in Carnarvon, the crossroads where Highway 35 meets Highway 118, and the southern portion of the municipality toward Norland and Kinmount. The Minden Whitewater Preserve on Horseshoe Lake Road, which hosted the canoe slalom events at the 2015 Pan American Games, is also in this area.
East of Haliburton village, Highway 118 and county roads 503 and 648 serve Highlands East, including Tory Hill, Wilberforce, Gooderham, Irondale and Cardiff. These are smaller communities, and many addresses are well off the highway. They are within reach for an airport transfer but add distance, so mention the exact location when you ask for a quote.
North along Highway 35, Algonquin Highlands covers the lake country toward the Muskoka border, including Dorset, where the highway crosses between Haliburton County and Muskoka more than once. If your cottage is closer to Dorset than to Minden, the trip from Pearson is correspondingly longer, and a quote based on the real address is more useful than one based on a nearby town.
Haliburton is a destination as well as a place people live. A good share of the trips we handle will start or end at one of a few types of address.
Resorts and inns. Pinestone Resort and Conference Centre, near Haliburton village, combines a golf course, indoor pool and meeting space, which makes it a common stop for family trips and corporate gatherings. Sir Sam’s Inn and Waterspa, an adults-only retreat, is in the same general area, close to the Sir Sam’s ski hill. Tell your driver which entrance you need, since larger properties often have more than one.
Ski and outdoor trips. Sir Sam’s Ski and Ride draws winter weekend traffic, and the Haliburton Forest and Wild Life Reserve is a destination in all seasons. Ski gear, golf clubs and paddling equipment take more room than standard luggage, so say so when you book and we will match the vehicle to the load.
Lakeside cottages and rentals. This is the biggest category. The Highlands have more than 600 freshwater lakes, and a large portion of the county’s visitors stay in cottages that are privately owned or rented by the week. Cottage addresses are the ones most likely to involve gravel, seasonal roads or a long driveway, so supply directions beyond a pin on the map.
Health and family visits. Haliburton Highlands Health Services runs hospital sites in both Haliburton and Minden, and some travellers are heading to or from a family member’s care rather than a holiday. A pre-arranged ride with a firm pickup time takes one worry off a stressful trip.
The route behaves differently depending on the month, and passengers who know that book better.
Summer weekends. Highway 35 has a long history of congestion on summer weekends, serious enough that an alternate route was once built partly to relieve it. Friday afternoons heading north and Sunday afternoons heading south are the pinch points, and long weekends such as Victoria Day, Canada Day, the August civic holiday and Labour Day make it worse. If your flight lands on one of those days, expect a longer drive than the mapped estimate.
Autumn. Fall colour weekends and Thanksgiving, when many families close up their cottages, bring heavier traffic in both directions. It is also a beautiful time to travel the Highlands, and leaving a little room in the schedule lets you enjoy it.
Winter. The Highlands sit on higher ground on the Canadian Shield, and conditions can change between the southern edge of the county and the lakes. A clear day in Toronto does not guarantee a clear Highway 35. If snow is forecast, tell us early, build extra time into departures and consider arriving a day sooner for a morning flight. Drivers will not rush a road that is not safe to rush.
Spring. Thaw season brings frost-damaged pavement and soft shoulders on some county roads, and cottage lanes can be rough until they dry out. Check your own driveway conditions before you give us a pickup time.
Choose the vehicle by the number of people and the amount of luggage, not just the headcount. A couple with two carry-ons has very different needs from a family of five coming home from a three-week trip with checked bags, a stroller and a cooler. Tell us the number of passengers, how many large suitcases, and any oversized items such as skis, golf clubs, bikes or child seats, and we will recommend a vehicle that fits.
Our fleet includes sedans, SUVs and vans for larger parties. [CONFIRM BEFORE PUBLISHING: exact vehicle models, passenger capacity and luggage capacity for each class.] For a trip this long, extra legroom and a quiet cabin are worth asking about, especially for older passengers or travellers coming off a long flight.
Booking is meant to be quick, and it works the same way whether you are leaving from Haliburton or arriving at Pearson.
You can call us at +1 647-482-1472 or toll-free at 1-800-563-7766, email info@torontopearsonairportlimos.com, or use the quote request on our site. We operate around the clock, which helps when your flight schedule does not follow office hours.
Because Haliburton is a long-distance run, pricing is handled by quote rather than a posted fare chart. [CONFIRM BEFORE PUBLISHING: add the flat-rate pricing model or starting fares if you want a figure shown on the page.] The factors that usually move the price on a trip like this are:
Ask any provider, including us, to put the total in writing before you confirm, including what is covered and what is not. That is the only way to compare a private transfer fairly against the cost of driving yourself, which includes fuel, the wear on your vehicle and several days of airport parking.
There is no direct public transit connection between Pearson and Haliburton County. Scheduled coaches have connected Toronto with Minden and Haliburton in the past, but you should check the current schedule and confirm whether the service reaches Pearson or requires a connection from downtown, since either option adds time and handling of luggage. Rental cars are an option if you want your own vehicle for the whole stay, though you take on the drive in both directions.
The people who book a private limo tend to have a common reason: the trip is long, the schedule is tight, or the traveller does not want to drive at the end of a flight or the start of one. A private transfer also lets the group travel together, which is simpler than coordinating two cars for a family reunion.
If you are travelling from elsewhere in the region, we also serve Peterborough, which connects to the Highlands via Highway 28, and Sudbury for longer northern trips. Our home page lists the other communities across Ontario that we serve.

By road it is about 237 km, and mapping data suggests around 3 hours 20 minutes of driving time without stops. Summer weekend traffic and winter weather can add to that, so treat the figure as an estimate.
The price depends on your exact pickup location, vehicle, time of travel and any extras. Because of the distance, we quote each trip individually and put the total in writing before you confirm. Send us your address and travel date for a quote.
Yes, in most cases. Give us the full address, directions, any gate codes and details about the road surface and winter maintenance. If a road is not safe for a vehicle to enter, we will arrange a nearby meeting point with you.
Yes. We also provide transfers to and from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and Hamilton International Airport, among others. Tell us which airport when you request a quote.
Usually, yes. Minden is the main commercial centre in the county, and a stop there is a common request. Tell us when you book so the stop is built into the schedule and the quote.
